Cinema Paradiso is a love story about cinema. It tells the story of Salvatore, a boy from a small Italian village where the only pastime is going to the cinema. Captivated by the moving images, the boy blindly believes that cinema is magic; but one day, Alfredo, the projectionist, agrees to teach the boy the mysteries and secrets behind a film. Salvatore grows up and the time comes when he must leave the village and make his own way in life. Thirty years later, he receives a message telling him that he must return home.
